The Unearthed Festival Pemberton is on again in April from the 21st to the 30th. This event showcases some of the best our southern forest region has to offer including wine, food, art, heritage and of course our beautiful forests.  There is something for everyone from farm visits to paddock to plate degustation's, pop-up market (Hillbrook Winery this year, yay) and wine and beer tastings.  Wherever you stay in Pemberton make sure that you drop into the Festival Shop in Brockman St in town to get up to date information about the event, venues and bookings.  There are activities happening all during the week and not just the weekends so book your accommodation early so you don't miss out.unearthed festival graphic

Oi, what are you doing?

Snickers checking out the intruder.

All the animals were loving the perfect spring weather on this day.  Every afternoon we see the immigration of dozens of kangaroos onto the horses paddock and at the moment there are a lot of very full pouches.Kangaroos are moving

The Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival is on again on Saturday December 10th. You can join in on the long table lunch, watch entertainment such as bands and log chops, browse the many stalls around the festival or just simply eat the first pick cherries of the season. Tickets are selling fast apparently for the long table lunch so get in quick if you interested in going. October 2016 Well it's been a long wet winter but spring is finally here in Pemberton. The wildflowers are out and are stunning and everything is lush and green.  I took a walk along the Walk Through Tree Trail yesterday for the first time at the Beedalup National Park and loved it, followed by a quick check-in at Beedalup Falls.  This is a must when you visit Pemberton next time. pemberton-new-years-fireworksEvery year down in Pemberton the Pemberton Hotel puts on an awesome show for the town.  It spares no expense by putting on a fireworks display both at 9pm for families and again at midnight. This event is free for everyone, parking is easy and you literally stand on the other side of the road to watch, so the view is perfect and the fireworks are a very high standard, as good as any.  The pub puts a big Decampo truck out the front with a band playing all night and of course its bar is open with no entry fee, you just don't get this hassle free opportunity in Perth on New Years.  Accommodation in Pemberton is starting to take bookings for that time, so I recommend that you book early.  To book with Rainbow Trail Chalets and secure your Pemberton Accommodation just click on the Book Now button, it's very easy.

June 2016 With truffle season now in full flight, that means that the Truffle Kerfuffle is fast approaching on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of June.  I recommend that if you get the chance to go on a Truffle Hunt (winter only), it's pretty interesting.  Pemberton Discovery Tours has teamed up with the Truffle Kerfuffle and has scheduled a couple of awesome tours for the weekend, both with a truffle flavor. "From Forest to the Coast" departing on both Saturday and Sunday morning at 9am  and the very popular Pemberton Wine Discovery Tour also with a twist of truffle (there is still availability on the Friday and the Sunday).  Bookings for either of these events can be done through the "TK" Website http://www.trufflekerfuffle.com.au/whats-on/tour-from-forest-to-coast/ . I recommend that you book early if possible as spaces are limited.
February is Rainbow Trail Chalets quietest time of the year and yet it is a perfect time of year to come down. It is not quite as hot as Perth and you don't have that howling sea breeze stopping you from going swimming any time of the day. Big Brook Dam and the Natural Pemberton Pool are just spectacular places to cool off as they are both surrounded by thick and tall Karri Forests. So, the special is, if you book a two night stay with us in February 2016 we will happily bump it to three nights for no extra charge. If you stay for three, we will make it four nights etc. This special will only apply to bookings made either over the phone with me or via email, not any external booking agents (sorry) and for a minimum of two nights paid bookings.
