Not only has Rainbow Trail Chalets joined the Facebook and Twitter revolution but we have just installed a brand new IPOD/IPHONE/MP3 docking station in each of our chalets, so now you can listen to your own music without any hassle.  In addition to this, CD’s can be played through the DVD player making that glass of wine on the balcony that much more relaxing.

Rainbow Trail Chalets Pemberton Accommodation Panoramic

Yes, after peer group pressure, Rainbow Trail Chalets has now joined the Facebook revolution.  I have no idea on what to do with it really BUT… I had an idea.  A lot of our guests who stay with us have never been to Pemberton before and have really got no idea what to see or do.  I think that it would be great if guests could upload a photo and a little description of something they did while they were here, that they would like to recommend to other people.  I have only been living in Pemberton three years and have still only seen a very small portion of what it has to offer,I would love to hear about your experiences and so would everyone else.  I would also love to put any really fantastic shots onto my website and really show off my beautiful town to the rest of the world.

I thought that I would also take the opportunity while on facebook to show-off my little star attraction, Cocoa.  I have posted a photo that I took last night of Cocoa while she was being very cute and sleepy on the lounge.  Cocoa is fast becoming not such a little joey anymore, but she still thinks she is and is just a big sook (and a bit naughty sometimes to).  I will keep you all up to date on her progress through facebook.

Check out the Facebook page here. Icons coming soon!

Killarnée Targa South West will be running for the second time in Pemberton this year.  The race is an exciting tarmac car rallying event that’s designed to be a fun weekend away for the crews and their teams and at the same time the people in and around Pemberton and Manjimup are able to enjoy an exciting motor sport event right on their doorstep.  When I say ‘right at their doorstep’, I mean this literally.  This year the course has been extended and rally cars will be driving straight past our front gates, front row seats yeh (very happy).

Last year it was a lot of fun waiting for one of the drivers to make a technical error and do something embarrasing like crash, unfortunately we had to settle with a few tyre sqeals and fish tails.  This year I will be sitting at my front gate with a glass of wine, chair and nibbles, so bring your comfy BBQ chairs from home and join me if you wish.

I forgot to say the date, Stage 1 is on Saturday 21st of May and Stage 2 is on the Sunday.  I have put a link (just copy and paste) below that shows the route of the rally past our property.

I received a text message not so long ago from Graeme (Pemberton Discovery Tours) asking if my family and I wanted to o on a Discovery Tour to Yeargarup National Park sand dunes with Postcards WA on board.  Stay tuned for that one on TV (I will keep you posted on this news sight).  My kids, mother in-law and I were spoilt for a day and got to experience fantastic 4WDing through the Yeargarup Sand Dunes (the largest sand dune system in the southern hemisphere)  with Graeme at the wheel.  We ended up at the river mouth down at the beach where my kids got to paddle their feet.  The Postcards film crew were absolutely fantastic, very friendly and accommodating.  It was also really interesting seeing how it all works behind the scenes, not as glamorous as it always looks on TV (but I’ve gotta say, they’ve got great jobs).  I think that the show is supposed to be airing around April ish.

I can definitely recommend that tour with Graeme (and he’s a pretty good bloke as well).

Congratulations Steve and Katrina on the opening of Rainbow Trail Chalets. Surrounded by Pemberton’s majestic Karri Forest, we know that your guests will appreciate the peace and tranquility of these charming surrounds.

Rambouillet is delighted to provide your guests with a taste of their award-winning wines. Our 2010 Chardonnay presents with sweet pear and melon flavours, interlaced with spicy oak and some savouriness. Our 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is a fresh and fruity wine, with a delightful zippy, mineral, citrus finish.

Situated just up the road from Rainbow Trail Chalets, Rambouillet is in the process of building a cellar door. Guests are welcome to visit and will receive a discount for wines purchased.

Kind regards

This is a great weekend and is quickly coming up.  A few thousand riders converge on our beautiful Pemberton wearing lycra and funny looking bike shoes, all ending up at the  sports club in one great big tent land mosh pit where they will spend one night recovery and I expect, washing.

Well, I think that Rainbow Trail Chalets offer a much better alternative to tent land, especially for support crews and spectators, who need a warm spa in the privacy of their own chalet at the end of an exhausting day and a nice glass of wine on their private balcony looking over stunning valley views and Karri forest.

The Relentless Blue Cross Mountain Bike Race is on the 30th April to the 1st May 2011.  The Blue Cross Country Race State XC Series Two will take place in the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park and caters for all ages and ability levels (so for you young and not so young at heart, give it a go).

Rainbow Trail Chalets have four luxury spa chalets and are only a one and a half kilometre bike ride from the Pemberton Mountain Bike Trail and falls into our 20% discount rates special.

The Pemberton Classic is a road bicycle race held each year over the long weekend in March.  It is two days of fun entertainment for the whole family, ranging from bike parades for kids (just a bit cute) to the Criterium Race on Saturday and Road Race on Sunday.

Guest staying at Rainbow Trail Chalets will have prime viewing opportunity as the road race rides directly past our front gate, so take a wine and a blanket and enjoy.  The bonus is that this long weekend falls in our ‘20% discount rates for accommodation’, so don’t miss out.
